Hi John;

Yes, the error message simply said “Audacity Quit Unexpectedly” and that they’d be sending the info to Apple. And yes, I downloaded the Apple version. I had an old version on my other Mac, which also was on an old iOS. Upgrading seemed like a good idea...

Until this, I’ve NEVER had Audacity crash, on any system, both my PCs and first Mac. And today it did it over and over. Very hard to work this way.

I’m in the USA. East Coast. (Why do you ask?)

Phyllis
where are you located?

Mobile security can be enabling, not merely restricting. Employees who
bring their own devices (BYOD) to work are irked by the imposition of MDM
restrictions. Mobile Device Manager Plus allows you to control only the
apps on BYO-devices by containerizing them, leaving personal data untouched!

Hi Phyllis,

Our official support address for Mac is:
http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewforum.php?f=47 .

Now you have also written to ***@. That is not a support
address, only for bug reports and feature requests, but you did
attach a crash report (thanks) so I will give you a reply there.

The latest Audacity version (currently 2.1.2) can always be obtained
from our site http://audacityteam.org/download/ .

i have had good luck with windows 7. Audacity 2.1.0. It did not crash on
me,
mac's probably require a different version. Did you note the error
message?
where are you located?

Subject: [Audacity-users] Audacity for Mac 2.1.0 on Mac Running 10.11.4
Quits Unexpectedly
Date: Sun, 15 May 2016 15:38:16 -0400 (GMT-04:00)
Hello, I have recently upgraded to a mac mini running iOS 10.11.4
(Yosemite). And
also loaded Audacity 2.1.0.
At least once a session, Audacity crashes and closes. Should I go back to
an older version of Audacity to fix this problem? Or is there something
else I should do?
Thanking you in advance for your help,
Phyllis
