Meant to say the option is called "Window." It's mentioned in the manual -

http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/menu_reference.html

- but is not on Version 2.1.2.

Now on Audacity 2.1.2, for Mac (10.11.4) but the menu option to switch between files is gone - or at least it isn't where it was and I haven't found it . Can I select an option to put it back? It's a lot slower to diminish each file and bring them up as needed. Please advise, and thank you.

Phyllis, you will get much better support for Mac OS X on Audacity
Forum:
http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewforum.php?f=47 .

Unfortunately in 2.1.2 the "Window" menu is missing due to a bug, as
it says in the 2.1.2 Release Notes:
http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Release_Notes_2.1.2#Interface .

You can still use COMMAND and `(backtick) to navigate through
open Audacity windows.
